What were the main challenges in managing Green Haven Hostel?

Green Haven Hostel, one of the most awarded hostels in Brazil, was initially managed informally and faced difficulties controlling and organizing reservations, despite gaining recognition for its outstanding service.

The team relied on outdated tools, such as Google Calendar, to manage daily operations. “When we won our first Hostelworld award as the Best Hostel in Latin America (2015), we were still using Google Calendar to manage the beds,” says Vinícius.

 This limited approach not only hindered the efficient management of the hostel but also represented an obstacle to growth and maximizing revenue potential.

"Nowadays, decisions are much easier to make; we no longer rely on guesswork like we used to. Decisions become more concrete, and the results are reflected in occupancy and revenue," Vinícius rejoices.

Event sales account for 50% of revenue. All management is done using HQBeds' Point of Sale tool.

In addition to managing its accommodations, which include shared rooms, private rooms, and even tents, Green Haven also uses its point-of-sale system to organize the numerous parties that have made the hostel famous. It is widely recognized as the most party-oriented hostel in Ubatuba.



The events, which can bring together up to 250 people on some of the most important dates of the year, have become such a key part of the operation that they now account for 50% of the business's total revenue. “Everything is managed through HQBeds' POS system,” Vinícius emphasizes.
